Kiambaa to build new classrooms at Muthurwa School
Kiambaa Member of Parliament (MP) John Njuguna has launched the construction of a 15-classroom and a modern block at Muthurwa Comprehensive School, in a major infrastructure boost aimed at improving learning conditions in the constituency.
The project, which includes a two-storey classroom complex, is intended to replace what the MP described as long-standing poor infrastructure at the institution.
“Muthurwa Comprehensive School has, for years, stood in a dilapidated state, far from the standard our children deserve. As the Member of Parliament for Kiambaa, I made a promise to change that story
, we have taken decisive action,” the legislator said.
He added that the development goes beyond classroom construction, noting that additional works will be carried out to improve accessibility within the school.
“We have officially broken ground for the construction of 15 new classrooms in a modern two-storey complex, a project that will restore dignity, inspire learning, and create a safe, conducive environment for our students to thrive. And this is just the beginning. We will also undertake cabro installation works in the school to ensure accessibility, cleanliness, and a truly transformed learning space.”
The classrooms project is part of a wider ongoing education infrastructure drive across Kiambaa Constituency, where several schools are benefiting from the installation of cabro and other upgrades.
At Kiambaa Comprehensive School, cabro works are in full swing, while similar projects at Karuri Comprehensive School and Kibathi Comprehensive School are being assessed as they near completion.
The first-time lawmaker also highlighted completed works at Gacharage Comprehensive School, where the cabro installation has already been finalized.
“Our cabro installation project at Gacharage Comprehensive School is complete. Step by step, we are transforming our schools into spaces that inspire excellence and nurture potential,” he added.
According to the MP, the goal is to ensure uniform improvement of learning environments across all schools in the constituency. He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the upgrades, saying Ndenderu Comprehensive School is also in the final stages of similar works.
