Authorities in Laikipia County have intensified the fight against illicit brews, destroying over 2,600 liters of Kangara and seizing 160 liters of Chang’aa in Shamanek village, Nyahururu Sub-County.

The multi-agency operation has been ramped up across the area, with Laikipia County Commander Peter Nduriri warning that the government will not relent in its efforts to eliminate illicit alcohol.

“The locals should be informed that alcohol and illicit brews are not permitted in Laikipia,” Nduriri said.

The team targeted illegal brewing dens as authorities stepped up measures to curb the production and distribution of harmful alcoholic drinks.

The raids form part of a broader campaign aimed at protecting public health and enhancing community safety by removing dangerous brews from circulation.
