Golden Jubilee of the Revolution School commemorated

Asmara, 1 October 2026 – Nationals residing in Italy, Germany and Saudi Arabia enthusiastically celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of the Revolution School under the theme “Vibrant Commemoration: New Impetus for Nation Building.”

The commemoration event in Bologna, Italy, which nurtured the “Red Flowers” youth during the armed struggle for independence, was attended by former students of the school and other nationals. The event was officially opened by Mr. Fesehatsion Petros, Eritrea’s Ambassador to Italy.

The event featured photo and video presentations under the themes “Revolution School” and “Education for All,” reflecting the EPLF’s vision for Eritrea’s future, as well as cultural and artistic presentations.

Ambassador Fesehatsion also conducted a seminar for participants on the establishment and journey of the Revolution School.

A discussion forum and other activities were also organized, with the participation of women who had become literate through the “Education for All” campaign.

The Golden Jubilee of the establishment of the Revolution School was also celebrated by nationals in Frankfurt, Germany, on 26 September, featuring various programs. The celebratory event was attended by Mr. Yohannes Woldu, Chargé d’Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy in Germany; Mr. Teame Haile, head of Public and Community Affairs; former students and guardians of the school; and invited guests.

The occasion featured a photo exhibition reflecting the activities of the school’s students, teachers and guardians, accounts of the school’s history, a documentary film screening, drama and cultural presentations.

Mr. Petros Hailemariam, Director General of Research and Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Education, also sent a virtual message focusing on the school’s historical background, role and challenges.

Similarly, nationals in Jeddah and its environs colorfully celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of the Revolution School with cultural and artistic presentations.

At the event, President Isaias’ speech at the official ceremony held in Asmara on 20 September and the Ministry of Education’s statement delivered by Mr. Petros Hailemariam were presented.
