We are pleased to present the ninth edition of The Presidency, and the fourth for 2026, highlighting Sierra Leone’s progress in governance, diplomacy, youth empowerment, infrastructure, and national development under His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.

In this edition, President Bio delivered landmark addresses at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, calling for resilient African leadership, strong institutions, constitutional democracy, and greater African agency in an era of global disruption.

The President also honoured former Nigerian Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar in Abuja, reflecting on peaceful democratic transitions, while advancing preparations for the West Africa Integration and Investment Summit (WAIIS), with strong support from African business leader Tony Elumelu.

Regionally, President Bio held talks with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani on terrorism, regional security, cooperation, and development.

At home, he engaged young African leaders and hosted the Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium, emphasizing youth empowerment, innovation, accountability, and inclusive leadership.

The edition also highlights the commissioning of the Manowa Bridge in Kailahun, strengthening connectivity, trade, and rural development, followed by the Presidential Town Hall in Makeni, where President Bio outlined key achievements in education, healthcare, electricity, infrastructure, and economic stability.

Together, these milestones reflect Sierra Leone’s continued progress toward democratic consolidation, regional leadership, economic resilience, and inclusive development.

This edition reflects Sierra Leone’s steady progress toward democratic consolidation, regional leadership, economic resilience and social advancement.
