President Hakainde Hichilema has successfully concluded a two-day developmental and community engagement tour of Muchinga Province, rallying thousands of citizens to support the United Party for National Development (UPND) administration’s ongoing economic and social transformation agenda.

The Head of State has now proceeded to Northern Province, where his arrival brought activities in key districts to a standstill with highly attended public rallies and community interactions.

During visits to Nakonde, Mafinga, Isoka, and Chinsali, President Hichilema outlined robust commitments to infrastructure, agriculture, and local empowerment.

In Nakonde, he highlighted the ongoing construction of the Mwenzo International Airport, which he said will unlock investment, trade, and employment opportunities for youths. He also cited the Nakonde One-Stop Border Post as a vital economic engine already driving local employment.

In Mafinga, he announced that the district’s increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation of K80 million will prioritize feeder road upgrades, enabling farmers to transport produce efficiently.

In Isoka, the President revealed plans to establish a large-scale phosphate mine, the first of its kind in the district, to generate jobs and stimulate local industry. He also directed that volunteer nurses be formally identified for civil service recruitment.

In Chinsali, he reaffirmed the impact of the Free Education policy and decentralized CDF in restoring dignity to rural communities.

Taking his message to Chilubi and Kasama, President Hichilema has urged citizens to reject leaders who promote regional division instead of unified national development.

He emphasized that his administration’s development model in Northern Province is designed to eliminate historic regional imbalances by prioritizing localized infrastructure and human capital development.

In Chilubi and Kaputa, focus remains on enhancing marine and land transport networks to boost trade, alongside bolstering food security through specialized agricultural interventions tailored for wetland and outlying areas.

In Nsama and Mporokoso, interventions will increase access to social services through the deployment of newly recruited public workers and the construction of robust community infrastructure funded via decentralized allocations.

President Hichilema stressed that the ongoing deployment of resources to geographically distinct areas is a core component of the government’s long-term economic recovery and stabilization blueprint.

“Our focus is on turning local wealth into tangible value for ordinary citizens, while ensuring no district is left behind,” he said.

By combining infrastructure expansion, agricultural resilience, and social sector investment, the UPND administration continues to anchor its governance on decentralized, inclusive development that directly improves the daily lives of Zambians.
