Commendable Activities in Enhancing the Teaching-Learning Process
Mendefera, 15 July 2026 – Commendable community participation in enhancing the teaching-learning process has been reported in Adi-Keih sub-zone. The report was presented at an activity-assessment meeting conducted in Adi-Keih on 13 and 14 July.
According to the report presented at the meeting, commendable activities have been carried out in renovating schools, constructing additional classrooms, and improving the livelihoods of teachers.
The promotion rate to the next grade during the 2025/2026 academic year was also reported to be about 90%.
Noting that encouraging efforts have been made to ensure equitable participation in education, Mr. Beyene Tesfay, Head of the Education Office in the sub-zone, said that an investment of over 300,000 Nakfa had been made to encourage school-age children in the eastern escarpment to attend school.
Mr. Habtay Tesfazgi, Administrator of the sub-zone, called for regular meetings with area administrators to sustain the growing enrolment of students.
The participants conducted extensive discussions on the report presented and adopted various recommendations.
Adi-Keih sub-zone has 87 educational facilities, ranging from pre-schools to high schools, providing educational services to over 17,000 students.
