Congresses of Scandinavian branches of NUEW
Asmara, 30 April 2026- The branches of the National Union of Eritrean Women in Scandinavian countries, including Denmark, Sweden, and Finland, have conducted their annual congresses.
Accordingly, at the congress in Copenhagen, Denmark, it was reported that members of the union branch have demonstrated strong efforts in strengthening organizational capacity and unity, as well as in national affairs. The congress also elected new executive members.
At the 5th congress of the Swedish branch of the National Union of Eritrean Women in Uppsala, Sweden, on 25 April, it was reported that the union branch has made various contributions to national development programs and has been an exemplary Eritrean organization with committed and dedicated members.
At the congress of the National Union of Eritrean Women branch in Finland, which was the first of its kind, an executive committee was elected.
The congress was attended by Ms. Nigisti Tsegay, chairperson of the Europe branch of the union; Ms. Kedija Ahmed, head of Europe organizations; and Mr. Mohammed-Ali Mohammed-Seid, Chargé d’Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy in Scandinavian countries.
