Mukaa Sub County Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Charles Igiha has ordered two bars to be closed at Kwa Kea market.

Igiha said the bars were not licensed by the county government while noting that they were playing loud music and operating next to Kwa Kea Comprehensive School.

He has directed the chief of the area to ensure the bars are closed and arrest the owners plus contraband liquor and take them to Salama Police Station as they wait for prosecution in court.

“Chief ensure today the owners of the bars are arrested and their contraband goods are taken to Salama police Station to face the law.,” said Igiha during the World Environment Day celebrations at Kwa Kea Comprehensive School.

“Because they cannot operate without being licensed by the county government. These are illegal outlets,” he posed.

The DCC was reacting to the calls of residents who spoke at the event saying, the bar owners were operating with impunity and were playing loud music even outside the stipulated hours.
