Eritrea participates in UCI Congress in Canada

Asmara, 25 September 2026 – Eritrea participated in the 195th UCI Congress, held on 23 September in Montreal, Canada.

At the Congress, Mr. Temesgen Redae, President of the National Cycling Federation, and Mr. Misgina Haile, Secretary General of the federation, presented a report on youth training programs organized in the country and their achievements; ongoing cycling competitions and their progress; and Eritrea’s strong competitiveness, capacity, and victories at African and international levels.

They also provided a briefing on Eritrea’s efforts to create opportunities for young cyclists trained in the country to receive further training at the UCI Training Center.

The Congress commended Eritrea’s efforts to develop competitive cycling, as well as its active participation in activities organized by the UCI.

Likewise, Mr. Samson Solomon, coach of Eritrea’s National Cycling Team, participated in a road cycling technical meeting organized by the UCI.

According to reports, Eritrea will participate in the UCI cycling championship to be held in Canada in the coming days.
