HIS MAJESTY ENGAGE OTHER FELLOW AFRICAN LEADERS ON FOOD SECURITY ISSUES AHEAD OF EL NINO PHENOMENON ANTICIPATED TO IMPACT THE CONTINENT.
His Majesty King Letsie III is on a 3-day official visit to the Republic of Kenya at the invitation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
The visit came amid growing concern over the escalating humanitarian impact of food insecurity across Africa.
During the visit, His Majesty is scheduled to have an audience with H.E. President William Samoei Ruto of Kenya, followed by a field engagement in drought-affected areas to highlight the evolving food security situation on the continent.
Today, His Majesty had a briefing session with Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Mr. Jagan Chapagain and Red Cross Kenya Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Idris alongside the IFRC global Leadership and Lesotho’s Minister of Agriculture Food Security and Nutrition Hon. Selibe Mochoboroane and other Lesotho lead delegation.
This official trip will conclude on the third day with a high-level meeting with stakeholders, donors and the diplomatic community.
Government entourage is made up of Minister of Agriculture and Food Security and Nutrition Hon. Selibe Mochoboroane, H.E. Ms. Ntsiuoa Sekete, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho to Ethiopia & Permanent Representative to the AU and other senior government officials.
