Ijara residents get infrastructural upgrade to spur development
Garissa Senator Abdul Mohamed Haji has reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with both the National and the County governments alongside relevant agencies to ensure critical infrastructure reaches every part of the region and open the region for faster development.
Senator Haji noted that critical infrastructure projects would ensure adequate power connectivity, ease the movement of people and goods, reduce transport costs and unlock greater economic opportunities for local communities.
The Garissa Senator made the remarks, yesterday, when he commissioned the upgrading to bitumen standard of the 50km Korisa–Gamba Road in Ijara Constituency.
“The upgrading of this road will enhance access to markets and essential services, stimulate local trade and strengthen connectivity between our rural communities and key economic centres,” Haji noted.
Haji who has expressed interest for the Garissa gubernatorial position in 2027 General Election was accompanied by Head of Extreme Engineers Limited, Hassan Elmi and several local leaders and elders.
He pledged to mobilise Masalani residents to join the rest of the country in nation building after lagging behind for so many years owing to historical injustices.
“This road we are launching today is over 96 km and snakes through Masalani-Gamba, joining Lamu road in Garsen Sub-county, thus connecting Mombasa and Lamu Sub-county,” Haji explained.
