LESOTHO TAKES CENTRE STAGE IN NEW YORK AS THE ROYAL TOUR DOCUMENTARY SERIES IS LAUNCHED

Lesotho is set to take centre stage on the international tourism and cultural map today as the 𝙇𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙤: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧 documentary series is launched in the United States of America on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

The one-hour special, hosted by renowned American travel journalist and multiple Emmy Award-winning producer 𝙋𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙜, offers international audiences an intimate journey through the Kingdom of Lesotho, guided by 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙈𝙖𝙟𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙮 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙚𝙩𝙨𝙞𝙚 𝙄𝙄𝙄.

The documentary takes viewers beyond the conventional images of a tourist destination, offering a first-hand look at Lesotho’s spectacular mountain landscapes, rich traditions, people and royal heritage.

During the journey, Greenberg travels by helicopter with King Letsie III, rides horseback through the mountains, meets villagers and shepherds, and even plays golf with the King. The programme also explores Lesotho’s art, fashion, food, wine and culture through encounters with members of the Royal Family.

The production forms part of The Royal Tour, a global television documentary series in which Greenberg is guided by heads of state and explores countries through their history, culture, people, landscapes and distinctive experiences.

For Lesotho, the production provides an opportunity to present the Kingdom to a global audience through a different lens, one that places its people, heritage, breathtaking highlands and unique identity at the heart of the story.

The documentary’s production in Lesotho was previously announced during the launch of the country’s 60th Independence Diamond Jubilee preparations at Thaba Bosiu, where Greenberg was introduced as a guest of His Majesty the King. The project was undertaken with support from the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation.

As the world gathers in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, the launch places Lesotho’s story before an international audience, showcasing a Kingdom whose identity, landscapes and traditions offer a distinctive African experience.
