PRIME MINISTER MATEKANE ADDRESSES THE 81st UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Prime Minister Sam Matekane has just told world leaders at the 81st UN General Assembly that *Lesotho is the FIRST country in the world to implement the UN AI Blueprint!
While the big countries are still planning, Lesotho is DOING.
“Lesotho already has three digital policies, a government data centre and a Chief Digital Officer. We know what we need,” – PM Matekane
He said Lesotho will NOT be left behind in the AI revolution.
His promise: Every investment in technology must improve the lives of ordinary Basotho – in agriculture, health, education, water & public service.
“We will build what fits our resources and our needs.”
PM also told the UN that:
-Africa must get a permanent seat at the UN Security Council – “Unjust & indefensible” that we don’t have one
-Lesotho has restored peace: “With help of UN, AU & SADC, we have reclaimed our rightful place”
-Ceasefire in Gaza NOW & two-state solution
-End sanctions on Cuba & Zimbabwe
-Climate change is killing small countries like Lesotho – developed countries must keep their promises
-Lesotho to be Africa’s clean energy champion – water, wind & sun are our new gold, led by His Majesty King Letsie III
The Mountain Kingdom may be small, but our voice is loud at the UN!
