SportPesa has unveiled and celebrated three jackpot winners who walked away with more than Sh40 million, during a colorful event in Bomet County.

The betting firm hosted an exhibition match as part of its commitment to giving back to local community.

The event, which also featured a grassroots football exhibition match, brought together residents, football fans and local leaders in a celebration of what the Company termed “life-changing wins”.

Patrick Chepkwony from Konoin in Bomet was among the lucky winners who work in Kericho as a Mathematics and Physics teacher.

Chepkwony scooped Sh18.6 million after correctly predicting all 13 matches in the Mega Jackpot Pro.

Chepkwony said years of discipline, consistency and match analysis, contributed to his success.

Jackpot winner, Stephen Odhiambo, from Siaya County displays a dummy cheque after winning over Sh17.3 million, during the SportPesa jackpot winners’ unveiling event in Bomet County.

He revealed that he uses several betting analysis platforms, together with SportPesa’s SP Score feature, before making predictions.

“Having played on the SportPesa platform for years, I carefully analyzed games using various betting platforms and SportPesa’s SP Score feature, before placing my bets,” Patrick revealed.

Inspired by former Mega Jackpot winner, Cosmos Korir, who also hails from the larger Bomet region and previously won over Sh200 million, Chepkwony said discipline and probability played a major role in his victory.

He received confirmation of the win while at school and immediately informed his Head of Department.

“I received confirmation of my win and I immediately shared the news with the Head of Department at school,” he said.

The teacher now plans to invest part of the money in dairy farming and constructing a family home.

Another lucky winner is Stephen Odhiambo from Siaya County, a Nairobi-based mechanic working in Kariokor, who won over Sh17.3 million after correctly predicting all 13 Midweek Jackpot matches.

Unlike Chepkwony, Odhiambo described himself as a casual player who prefers placing bets and patiently waiting for results.

He said the money would help him expand his garage business and improve his family’s welfare, including supporting education.

“I intend to use the money to expand my garage business and improve my family’s living standards and education,” said Odhiambo.

The third winner, Pius Kipsang, a surveyor from Nandi County, walked away with a Sh5.2 million bonus, after missing just one match in the 17-match Mega Jackpot.

Kipsang said he plans to use the money to improve the quality of life for his family.

Speaking during the unveiling, SportPesa Public Relations and Advertising Executive, Deborah Chipkirui Maina, congratulated the winners, while urging Kenyans to bet responsibly.

“Betting should strictly remain a form of entertainment and should never involve rent, school fees, or food money,” she said.

She added that the Company strongly discourages underage betting and continues to promote responsible gaming practices across the country.

“We also encourage responsible gaming and strictly discourage underage betting,” she said.

The event concluded with a community exhibition football match between Chaptalal FC, a team sponsored under SportPesa’s Tujiamini Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, and Magengi FC from Merigi in Bomet County.

The winning team received Sh30,000, two footballs and a full set of kits, while the runners-up walked away with Sh20,000 and football kits.

SportPesa said the initiative is part of its broader efforts to nurture grassroots football, empower youth and support community development beyond gaming.
