Samburu county blood drive collects 28 pints to boost lifesaving supply
Samburu County Referral Hospital received a major boost after a blood donation drive conducted on 17th October 2026 successfully collected 28 pints of blood.
The drive was organized by the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) Samburu Branch in partnership with Huduma Kenya Samburu Branch and the Samburu County Referral Hospital, with the aim of strengthening the availability of blood for patients requiring lifesaving transfusion services.
The exercise drew generous participation from KRCS volunteers, Huduma Centre staff, and members of the public who stepped forward to donate blood and make a difference in the lives of others.
Organizers said the 28 pints collected will go a long way in supporting emergency cases, mothers in labour, children with severe anemia, accident victims, and other patients in urgent need of transfusion.
The successful drive highlights the power of community action and partnership in saving lives and underscores the importance of regular voluntary blood donation to ensure adequate blood supplies for the county.
KRCS Samburu thanked all donors and partners who made the drive a success and urged more residents to embrace the culture of regular voluntary blood donation.
