Activity Assessment Meeting of NUEW Board in Central Region

Asmara, 29 April 2026- The Board of the National Union of Eritrean Women in the Central Region conducted an activity assessment meeting with women’s organizations at line ministries and administrations in the Central Region on 28 April.

Noting that encouraging efforts are being exerted to enhance the awareness of women, improve their livelihoods, and ensure their equal participation, Ms. Elsa Woldegabir, head of political and organizational affairs at the union branch, called on members to strengthen their participation in transferring noble societal values to the young generation.

Ms. Elsa also presented a report on the achievements registered and challenges encountered.

The participants conducted extensive discussion on the report presented and adopted various recommendations, including organizing vocational training programs to enhance the overall capacity of women and strengthening participation in efforts to eradicate harmful practices, among others.

Ms. Alem Belai, head of the union branch in the region, on her part, called on women workers to strengthen their contribution to enhancing the organizational capacity of women at their places of work.
