The Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja on Wednesday opened the National Annual Performance Review Conference on Uganda’s development agenda at Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala.
The Premier described the three-day review conference, which is organised by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), as a critical platform for reflection, accountability, and renewed commitment to Uganda’s development agenda.

This year’s review covers three assessments: the national annual performance, the local government performance, and Sustainable Development Goals implementation. This, Nabbanja said, reflects the Government’s commitment to a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to development.
“Since 2023, the Government has deepened its focus on results-oriented leadership, ensuring that national priorities are not only planned for but effectively implemented, monitored, and reported upon,” the Prime Minister said.
The Premier said this three-day review is an important platform for taking stock of the government and assessing progress across sectors and local governments, as well as aligning development interventions with the aspirations of Ugandans.

“Over the past years, we have made notable progress. We have strengthened coordination mechanisms across the Government, expanded the national results framework, and improved data systems to track performance,” Nabbanja said.
However, Nabbanja said there are some development challenges, ranging from resource constraints to implementation bottlenecks at both the central and local government levels.
“This conference provides us with an opportunity to openly interrogate these issues, share practical solutions, and agree on actionable steps to accelerate delivery,” the Prime Minister said. “The insights from this conference will directly inform government decision-making, strengthen accountability across institutions, and guide our engagement with Parliament and our development partners.”

The Minister for General Duties in the OPM, Rt. Hon. Justice Kasule Lumumba reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals. She said that Uganda is on track to achieve nationwide socio-economic transformation due to programmes such as the Parish Development Model.
H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will address and close the conference on Friday.
