President Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia is ready for full economic take‑off and has urged citizens to safeguard the momentum needed to achieve national goals.

Speaking at community engagements in Monze and Choma Districts, President Hichilema told crowds his government has already stabilised the country, clearing the way for faster economic growth.

“The heavy lifting is done, and now Zambia must stay on course to reap the benefits,” he said.

President Hichilema recalled inheriting a broken economy under severe strain both locally and abroad. He said targeted reforms have changed the nation’s outlook, building a strong base for lasting progress and opening the economy to new opportunities.

He emphasised that his administration is also aware of local development priorities, pointing to the Monze–Niko road as proof of delivery on community needs.
President Hichilema said the government will build farm water dams and upgrade township roads, ensuring agriculture and local trade can thrive.

The President stressed the importance of rural infrastructure, saying better roads and energy access are vital for connecting communities and driving growth. He noted that government programmes aim to give citizens the tools to improve their lives.

Mr. Hichilema urged residents to vote in large numbers on 13 August. He said a strong turnout will secure the administration’s target of five million votes, keeping development on track and ensuring uninterrupted momentum for Zambia’s future.
