PRESIDENT HICHILEMA SHARES INFRASTRUCTURE AND WELFARE VISION FOR CHISAMBA DISTRICT

President Hakainde Hichilema has reiterated his government’s commitment to accelerating rural development across the country, highlighting expanded social safety nets, major road rehabilitations, and healthcare infrastructure projects.

​Speaking during a community engagement event in Chiasmba, Central Province, the Head of State emphasised that the New Dawn administration is focused on executing direct, grassroots interventions designed to lift families out of poverty and stimulate local economic growth.

​President Hichilema outlined several expanded social protection measures, noting that government interventions are being scaled up to cushion vulnerable households. He highlighted the expansion of the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) and the Social Cash Transfer scheme, which he says will be expanded to increase both funding allocations and beneficiary numbers.

​Reflecting on the impact of his administration’s human capital investments, the President noted that the government stands out for its unprecedented recruitment of teachers and health personnel in a single term.
He stressed that these deployments, combined with the decentralization of resources through the enhanced Constituency Development Fund (CDF), are already transforming rural service delivery.

​Focusing on Chisamba’s local priorities, President Hichilema committed to key developmental projects for the area. He assured residents that government plans are underway to build a modern Chisamba District Hospital to bring quality medical care closer to the people. He also pledged the upgrading and rehabilitation of the strategic Chisamba–Chamuka–Chikokomeni road among other roads critical to the farming community.

​To further promote local development, the Head of State promised expanded telecommunications and internet connectivity across the district, the construction of additional modern classroom blocks, and the streamlined issuance of small-scale mining licenses anchored on safe and sustainable mining practices.
​President Hichilema thanked the residents of Chisamba following the recent return of six UPND candidates unopposed, describing the development as a strong vote of confidence in the government’s developmental agenda.
