Significance of strengthening organizations in development programs

Massawa, 07 July 2026- Strengthening organizations, especially youth organizations, makes significant contribution to the overall progress of development programs. The remark was made by Ambassador Abdella Musa, Minister of Local Government, at a meeting conducted in the port city of Massawa on 4 and 5 July to review activities in the Northern Red Sea Region in the first half of 2026.

Minister Abdella, noting that nurturing competent youth who adhere to the noble values of the People’s Front and their society is a national task that requires integrated effort, said that encouraging results are being registered in this regard and called for reinforced effort for better outcomes.

At the meeting, reports were presented on the strengths and challenges encountered in activities so far implemented in agriculture, potable water supply, social services, as well as line ministries, associations and others.

The meeting also conducted extensive discussion on the reports presented and adopted various recommendations, including addressing potable water shortages in some areas, introducing and expanding renewable energy with a view to curbing deforestation, timely completion of educational facilities under construction, as well as renovation of old educational and health facilities.

Noting that encouraging development activities have so far been implemented, Mr. Kibrom Andemicael, Managing Director of the Northern Red Sea Region, stressed the importance of preserving the achievements registered and addressing the challenges encountered.
