Vocational training to youth in Southern Region

Mendefera, 17 June 2026- Vocational training ranging from three to six months in nine fields has been provided to over 550 youth in the Southern Region. Of the trainees, 425 were from Mendefera sub-zone and 128 from Adi-Quala sub-zone.

The training covered musical instruments, electricity line installation, installation and maintenance of solar energy systems, computer technology, beauty salon services, literature, first aid, as well as karate and dancing.

Noting that the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students branch in the region is working to expand its organization across the region and support youth engaged in innovation and creativity, Mr. Ghirmay Gebru, head of the union branch in the region, called on the youth to take advantage of the training opportunities being provided.

Underlining that the youth in order to transform their surroundings they must first transform themselves, Mr. Woldai Gebre, Chairman of the Regional Assembly in the Southern Region, called on the trainees to become exemplary in their respective areas.
